My Daughter IS Trying!

My child, Briana, comes home from school most of the time hoping she can forget all about the day she has had. She doesn't do so well in math. She gets frustrated and it is hard for me to watch. I try to help her but I am not home all the time because I have to work. When I am trying to help her with her homework she gets confused and overwhelmed. She cries and sometimes works on her homework for a long time. There has been times in the past when she lied, saying she didn't have any homework so she could play outside with her friends and not have to work on it all night. Briana gets stressed out. When she doesn't get her homework done she's unable to go to recess the following day, and when she has long worksheets to do for homework she also misses out on time she could be spending outside with friends enjoying life. It's hard for people to understand that she is trying to get her work done.
