No Time for Soccer or Reading

My daughter is so overwhelmed with homework that she often does not have time to see her friends. The worst part about her homework situation is that it's not a matter of her learning things during school and coming home to expand on those ideas in her homework. She is literally taught about 25% of what she needs to know and then is expected to teach herself in her homework. I have tried to help her with her homework, but it is often over my head when she's dealing with math or some of the more specific Sciences. We've hired tutors but don't have the money to have a consistent tutor. My daughter used to love playing soccer and now she doesn't have the time to practice and her skills have really decreased which has caused her to not like playing nearly as much. She also used to read for at least an hour before bed but now she's up so late doing homework that she's too tired to read. I really feel that she has so much homework she doesn't have the time to actually learn anything, instead the best she can do is read things over and try to remember as many facts as possible. I do not think she's getting a good education.
